Qualifications

• Current AZ CVT license and eligibility to work in AZ.
• Experience in veterinary internal medicine preferred.
• Ability to safely handle chemotherapy drugs.
• Strong communication and records management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with hospital services.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations, collect patient histories.
• Process in-house lab samples and prepare samples for outside labs.
• Maintain medical records and correspondence.
• Assist with Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology, Ultrasound, CT Scans).
• Assist with patient recovery; support Pharmacy duties.
• Venipuncture and catheter placement.
• Knowledge and experience with chemotherapy drugs and safety protocols.
• Safe animal restraint and handling.
• Demonstrate strong multi-tasking and teamwork.

Job description

VCA Valley Animal Hospital & Emergency Center is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine Department.

Location: 4984 E 22nd St, Tucson, AZ 85711

Schedule: Full-Time, 5x8-hour work week

Salary: $16-$23 / hour. Salary varies based on education, experience, & current AZ CVT license (includes scale for licensed & unlicensed Veterinary Technicians).

Skills that our Veterinary Technician in Internal Medicine utilizes, but are not limited to:

• Physical examinations, patient assessment, and collecting patient histories
• Processing laboratory samples in-house
• Preparing laboratory samples for outside labs
• Managing medical records, reports, and correspondence
• Assist with Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology, Ultrasound, CT Scans)
