Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital seeks a knowledgeable Veterinary Technician to join the Internal Medicine department in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will liaise between internists and clients, manage patient histories, instruct clients, and support lab work and imaging procedures.

Responsibilities include assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, distributing medications, taking X-rays, obtaining lab samples, and providing anesthesia support with strong phlebotomy skills.

Qualifications

• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
• Assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking X-rays and obtaining lab samples.

Responsibilities

• Set up CRI (constant rate infusions).
• Calculates medical dosages and rates (mcg/mg, %/mg).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Assist with endoscopic procedures and maintain equipment.
• Discharge patients with basic client education.

As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians, you are a liaison between our internists and our clientsregardingpatient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will beassistingwith endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, takingx rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skillsrequired.

As an IM VeterinaryTechnician,you will…

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg,etc.).
• Induce,monitorand recover anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up andassistwith endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean andmaintainequipment followingprocedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additionaljob duties as assigned.
