Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists Miami is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine team in Miami, FL. This full-time, day-shift role offers NO on-call, with 4-10 hour shifts per week.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of specialty clinical experience; licensure is preferred but not required. AVMA-accredited education or equivalent experience is valued as we support advanced diagnostics and patient care.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of clinical experience in a specialty service is required.
• Vet Technician licensure (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred, NOT required; experienced Veterinary Assistants encouraged to apply.
• Degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Assist the Internal Medicine team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Prepare patients for diagnostics and procedures, including patient assessments, IV catheter placement, blood collection, and treatment preparation.
• Monitor patients during sedation, treatments, and recovery.
• Assist with advanced diagnostic procedures in accordance with Florida Veterinary Practice Act guidelines.
• Support endoscopy, ultrasound, and other Internal Medicine procedures as directed by the medical team.
• Communicate with clients regarding individualized pet health concerns, treatment plans, medications, and Thrive Membership options.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records utilizing hospital practice management systems.
• Obtain relevant patient histories and client information.
• Use safe restraint techniques and uphold hospital safety protocols.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary treatment and laboratory areas.
• Mentor and support fellow team members while contributing to a positive hospital culture.

We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, serving Miami-Dade County and the surrounding South Florida community.

TPHS Miami is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine TEAM!

Our Internal Medicine department provides advanced diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients with complex medical conditions. The team collaborates closely with other services to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Your Experience & Skills
