Cimarron Animal Hospital, part of Western Veterinary Partners, seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant in Tucson to support exams, treatments, surgeries, and dentistry. You will prep patients, assist veterinarians, and help educate clients while delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

We offer a competitive compensation range of $17.50–$20 per hour, flexible full-time or part-time schedules (8 or 10 hour shifts) with Saturday requirements, plus a comprehensive

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint
• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
• Experience collecting patient histories and vitals preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely

Responsibilities

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
