San Clemente Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our team in sunny California. You will work in a fast-paced, patient-focused hospital alongside a collaborative staff.

Qualifications

• Two years of veterinary experience
• Experience as Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician
• Strong technical and communication skills
• Knowledge of vaccines, Fear Free practices, and hospital workflows

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative care, vaccines, and wellness visits
• Apply Fear Free practices to create a positive patient experience
• Dispense and administer medications as directed
• Obtain complete patient histories and maintain treatment records
• Perform pharmacology calculations
• Support surgical procedures, including prep, monitoring, and recovery
• Assist with dentistry and radiography
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Educate clients and communicate recommendations clearly and professionally
• Contribute to all areas of patient care as a skilled veterinary team member
