Job summary

Lakefield Veterinary Group’s Inver Grove Heights Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician to assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treating pets. You will maintain medical charts, prepare procedures, and communicate health needs to clients.

The ideal candidate holds an AVMA-accredited associate degree, state CVT/LVT/RVT certification in good standing, and is comfortable with dental prophylaxis, sample collection, and x-ray procedures. Flexible hours including evenings may be required.

Qualifications

• AVMA-accredited associate degree in veterinary technology.
• State licensing requirements for veterinary technicians (CVT/LVT/RVT) in good standing.
• VT National Examination completed where required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarian in diagnosing and treating pets.
• Maintain patient medical charts and records.
• Prepare procedures and assist during examinations, diagnosis, and treatment phases.
• Educate clients about pet health needs and preventive care.
• Perform dental prophylaxis, venipunctures, and sample collection as directed by Veterinarian.
