Alta Vista Animal Hospital in Montrose, CO is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. The role covers outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry, with a focus on client communication and high-quality medicine.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in veterinary tech, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative general practice on a 4/10 schedule, Wednesday through Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in Colorado.
• Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience.
• Proficiency in client education and communication.
• Proficiency in safe, low-stress handling and restraint techniques.
• Ability to assist in surgery and dental procedures with aseptic technique.
• Accurate medication calculations and in-house lab testing.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients.
• Identify patient concerns and support hospital-wide case management.
• Educate clients and provide attentive service to build relationships.
