COVE Animal Health's Pieper Veterinary in Middletown, CT is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced Emergency Care team. We value teamwork, clear communication, and a calm focus during critical moments to deliver the highest standard of patient care.

The role requires experience with patient restraint, triage, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia. CPR, EzyVet, and SmartFlow knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associates in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
• CVT license is a plus.
• Experience with anesthesia and monitoring.
• Knowledge of scheduling, receiving, treating, ordering tests.

About You

We are seeking a technician who is already comfortable with patient restraint, triage, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia. Experience with CPR, EzyVet, and SmartFlow is a plus, but not required. Anticipated Schedule

This is a full‑time position:
Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday – 8pm-8am
Holidays are required.

Compensation

Starting at $21.00-$30.00/hour dependent upon experience.

Requirements

• Associates in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
• CVT license is a plus.
• Knowledge with Anesthesia and monitoring.
• Knowledge of the procedures used for scheduling patients, receiving, treating, ordering medical supplies, and requesting laboratory tests.
• Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques to sterilize various instruments and materials.
• Knowledge of the instruments, materials, and standardized procedures used in the full variety of treatments to make preparations and provide “tableside” assistance.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services. This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
• Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
