Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Spring, TX is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. You will assist with anesthesia, triage emergencies, and perform radiography while monitoring vital signs and supporting clients.

Qualifications

• Experienced Veterinary Technician required for Emergency and Critical Care.
• Experience in emergency settings preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia using equipment.
• Triage emergencies and record vitals (temp, HR, RR, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique.
• Interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Maintain phlebotomy procedures and IV catheters.
• Mentor and train other staff; support client communication.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Spring, TX is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• H ave a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
