MissionVet Specialty & Emergency in San Antonio, TX is seeking an ER Veterinary Technician for overnight shifts. The role provides high-level nursing care and technical support for critically ill or injured patients, working closely with veterinarians on diagnosis, anesthesia, and monitoring in a fast-paced setting.

The position offers hourly pay of $20–$23 with $3 overnight and $1 weekend differentials, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) with match,

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) or skilled technicians with at least two years of experience.
• Emergency and Critical Care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent English (speaking & reading) required; additional languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Emergency ICU monitoring and CRI calculations; fluid rate management.
• Assess and stabilize critically ill patients with the veterinary team.
• Administer medications and treatments under veterinarian direction.
• Provide compassionate support to pet owners and update them on patient status.
• Maintain accurate medical records; ensure clear client communication.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Job Description

The Emergency Veterinary Technician provides exceptional nursing care and technical support for critically ill and injured patients in a fast-paced emergency setting.
