South Atlanta Veterinary Emergency & Specialty (SAVES) Center in Fayetteville, GA seeks a Veterinary Technician – Emergency Department to join our 24/7 team. You will support doctors, assist with surgeries, manage patient flow, and educate clients about care plans and Thrive options.

Qualifications

• Veterinary technician licensure is preferred but not required.
• 1–2 years of clinical veterinary experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited program preferred or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end care for patients, from admission to discharge.
• Assist veterinarians and medical team to maintain smooth patient flow.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in line with state act for credentialed technicians.
• Educate clients on pet health and Thrive Membership options.
• Maintain accurate medical records with practice systems.

About You

You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients. The success of your patients’ care matters to you, and your success matters to us.

Your Experience & Skills

• Veterinary technician, licensure preferred but not required
• 1-2 years of clinical experience
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

You’re Willing And Able To

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients
• Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments
• Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs
• Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at $17 - $20/ hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
