BluePearl Pet Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. A sign-on bonus is available for credentialed technicians.

At BluePearl Pet Hospital, the Veterinary Technician role offers an exciting, fast-paced opportunity to utilize and expand your skills alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

1. Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia, and operate anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
2. Triage emergency cases, obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
3. Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
4. Understand normal ranges of vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
5. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarians to any changes.
6. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
7. Calculate medical dosages, including infusions, and administer medications appropriately.
8. Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
9. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
10. Mentor and train colleagues.
11. Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
