Job summary

CityVet Crabtree Veterinary Assistant – VA is seeking an energetic team member to support veterinary technicians and vets in a busy clinic. The role involves assisting with medical and surgical procedures, restraining animals as needed, and helping coordinate care with clients and front desk staff.

We welcome applicants with at least 1 year of veterinary industry experience; entry-level candidates will be trained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Understanding and ability to properly, and safely, restrain animals.
• Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication.
• Lift 50 lbs to waist height.
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Self-motivated & team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Aid the VT in preparing patients for medical, surgical, and dental procedures, including anesthesia administration and restraint.
• Support the VT and Vet Team with triage based on patient and facility needs.
• Record observations and treatment plans in patient files; assist with treatments under doctor supervision.
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team as needed.
