Job summary

Epic Tails Veterinary Clinic in Charlotte, NC is hiring two full-time Veterinary Technicians or Assistants at $19.00-$23.00 per hour, based on skills and experience. Salary is negotiable for the right candidate, with a $500 sign-on bonus ($250 after 90 days and $250 at 6 months).

This is a four 10-hour shift schedule: Tue/Thu/Fri 7:30 AM–5:30 PM, and every other Saturday 8:00 AM–1:00 PM (with a half-day off in the week when Saturday is scheduled).

Qualifications

• Cat and dog handling with low-stress techniques.
• Experience with radiographs, injections, IV catheter placement.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during procedures and appointments.
• Monitor anesthesia and provide care as needed.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and restock supplies.
• Educate clients and document medical records.

Salary:$19.00-$23.00 per hour, based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. Salary is negotiable for the right candidate!

Sign-on bonus: $500 sign on bonus, with $250 paid after completion of 90-day probationary period and $250 paid at the 6-month mark.

Schedule:

This is a full‑time position, typically working four 10‑hour shifts.

A typical schedule could be:

• Tuesday:7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
• Thursday:7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
• Friday:7:30 AM - 5:30 PM

You are …

• Skilled with the technical stuff:
  • Low‑stress and fear‑free restraint and handling of cats and dogs - bonus if you also have experience working with birds and small mammals, too!
  • Lab work, radiograph positioning and safety, injections (SQ, IV, IM), IV catheter placement, medication dispensing, and medical record maintenance, restraint for exams, and supporting veterinarians during procedures and appointments
  • Hospital maintenance, stocking, and cleanliness
  • Anesthesia monitoring and administration experience is a strong plus, but we can train a motivated learner!
• Skilled with the soft stuff: client communication and education, conflict resolution, answering phones, and taking payments
• Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Able to work under pressure, in new environments
• Interested in growing your skillset and learning new things
• Someone who believes in welcoming clients into the medical process by educating, supporting, comforting, and treating them as individuals
