Animal Emergency & Specialty Center (AESC) in Parker, CO is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to join our centralized anesthesia team. You will monitor anesthesia, assist with procedures, and ensure patient recovery across multiple specialties within a 24/7 hospital.

Qualifications
- At least two years of veterinary technician experience in a surgical or anesthesia-focused role.
- Registered Veterinary Technician in Colorado or ability to obtain registration on hire.
- Fluent English, both spoken and written.
Responsibilities
- Execute prescribed anesthesia plans from pre-anesthesia through recovery and monitoring.
- Perform pain assessment and multimodal analgesia planning.
- Document patient care in anesthesia forms in Smart Flow and EzyVet.
- Set up and troubleshoot anesthesia machines and monitoring equipment.
- Administer a wide range of anesthetic drugs and manage CRI therapy.
- Support patient care across multiple hospital services as needed.

We are seeking a dedicated Anesthesia Technician to join our centralized anesthesia team and play a critical role in supporting patient care across multiple specialty services, including Surgery, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Oncology, Neurology, Radiology, and Emergency.

As an Anesthesia Technician , you will collaborate closely with veterinarians and clinical teams to ensure the safe, efficient, and compassionate management of anesthetic and sedation procedures throughout the hospital. Responsibilities include administering sedation, monitoring patients under anesthesia, assisting with anesthetic procedures, overseeing patient recovery, and helping maintain seamless patient flow.
- Executes prescribed anesthetic plans for patients undergoing anesthesia, from pre-anesthesia until recovery, and monitoring throughout.
- Perform patient pain assessments and develop proposed analgesic plans for cases using multimodal pain management techniques.
- Documents patient care using AESC anesthesia forms in Smart Flowand EzyVet
- Set up and troubleshoot anesthesia machines and monitoring equipment.
- Executes prescribed analgesic plans for anesthetic cases using local, systemic, and regional pain management techniques.
- Sets ups and maintains anesthetic equipment for patients.
- Identifies normal/abnormal anesthetic readings and collaborates with veterinarian to provide proper intervention.
- Troubleshoots anesthetic complications and alerts the prescribing veterinarian when appropriate.
- Administers a wide range of anesthetic drugs.
- Sets up and maintain CRI’s to treat a variety of conditions such as pain and hypotension.
- Facilitate anesthesia on a variety of cases to include soft tissue, orthopedic, and a wide variety of surgical wound repairs.
- Obtains samples for diagnostic tests such as bloodwork and urinalysis.
- Monitors anesthetic patients for a variety of diagnostics such as CT and MRI.
- Executes anesthesia on a variety of patients with ASA status ranging from I-IV
- Helps and supports other areas of the hospital as directed.
- At least TWO YEARs of veterinary technician experience is required in a surgical setting or anesthesia focus role
- Registered Veterinary Technician, in Colorado, or the ability to become registered upon hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
- At least 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience in a Emergency or Specialty Hospital
- Experience with performing anesthesia for MRI or CT scans.
- Experience with more critical anesthesia.
- Ability to multitask and anticipate the department’s needs.
- Excellent communication.
- Experience using Medical Record and Whiteboard programs in a veterinary setting.
