Job summary

AmeriVet Veterinary Partners in Wells, ME is seeking a veterinary technician or assistant to support veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgeries. You will safely handle animals, administer medications, collect labs, and keep precise patient records while educating clients on proper pet care.

The role emphasizes teamwork in a clean, organized clinic, with no weekend shifts and consistent, predictable hours. Certification is preferred or licensure eligibility per state rules.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
  • Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Certification preferred or eligibility to obtain licensure by state requirements.
  • AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
  • Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
  • Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Educate clients on pet care and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Schedule

No weekends and no late evening shifts.

Qualifications
  • Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Pay Range
