Greenwood Lake Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate team in Hewitt, NJ. The role includes patient care, assisting veterinarians during exams and procedures, and client communication to support high-quality pet care.

Qualifications

• Certified Veterinary Technician in New Jersey preferred.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Job description

Veterinary Technician

Salary: $25 - $28 per hour, determined by the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: This is a full-time position averaging 35 hours per week. Three 10-hour shifts per week. Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM (scheduled within these hours.) Every other Saturday required: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM.
