Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent hands-on experience is highly preferred.
• Solid foundations: blood draws, IV catheter placement, anesthetic monitoring and pharmacology expertise.
• Low-stress handling techniques to keep patients calm and comfortable.
• Team mindset with strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Surgical and exam assistance with Dr. Baquero during exams, procedures, and soft-tissue surgeries.
• Perform in-house diagnostics, lab work, and process samples; capture radiographs and EKGs.
• Safely administer medications, monitor anesthesia, and provide nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Educate clients on treatment plans, post-op care, and parasite prevention.

About the Role: A Breath of Fresh Air in Vet Medicine

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled Veterinary Technician to join our tight-knit Palmetto Bay team. In this role, you will use your full range of clinical skills in a low-stress setting, helping us provide premier Miami-Dade pet care with a truly neighborhood feel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Surgical & Exam Assistance: Partner closely with Dr. Baquero during exams, outpatient treatments, and soft-tissue surgeries.
• Diagnostics & Lab Work: Run in-house lab work, process diagnostic samples, and capture high-quality digital radiographs and EKGs.
• Patient Advocacy & Anesthesia: Safely administer medications and vaccines, monitor anesthesia, and provide gentle, dedicated nursing care to recovering or hospitalized patients.
• Client Education: Help local pet parents understand treatment plans, post-op recovery care, and tropical parasite prevention (essential in our warm, humid South Florida climate).

What We’re Looking For

• Credentials or Deep Experience: An Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology or a CVT/RVT/LVT license is highly preferred, though we value equivalent hands‑on clinical experience.
• Solid Technical Foundations: Confidence in blood draws, IV catheter placement, anesthetic monitoring, and pharmacology.
