Job summary

Forever Vets Animal Hospital in New York is seeking a Veterinary Technician who loves training and customer service. You will work closely with a compassionate team to provide high-quality care.

The role includes learning phlebotomy, radiology, restraint, and anesthesia support, with opportunities for advancement and continuing education.

Qualifications

  • Must be compassionate and empathetic.

  • Capable of restraining dogs and cats as needed.
  • Experience discussing financial estimates with clients.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work under emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide phlebotomy procedures for canines and felines.
  • Assist with abdominal, thoracic, orthopedic and dental radiology.
  • Record patient medical data accurately and securely.
  • Assist with anesthetic preparation, intubation and monitoring.
  • Educate clients on care, vaccines and procedures.
  • Help with intake, scheduling and client communication.

  • Has experience with preparing financial estimates and reviewing them with a client.
  • Calmly and effectively works as part of a team under emergency circumstances.
  • Is detail-oriented.
  • Physical effort: Work requires lifting and carrying animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40lbs). Walks or stands for extended periods of time, frequently works in a bent position.
  • Working conditions: May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratched and contagious diseases.
