Job summary

Grant Pet Hospital & Urgent Care is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant for a part-time role. Join a growing team and work across routine and urgent care with experienced veterinarians, gaining hands-on experience and learning in a supportive environment.

We value teamwork, kindness, and a positive workplace culture. A pre-employment drug screen and background check are required. This position involves up to 28 hours per week with rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• RVT or Veterinary Assistant certification preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical demands of a busy hospital.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care for patients during routine, urgent, hospitalized, critical, and end‑of‑life cases.
• Safely and confidently handle pets of all sizes and temperaments.
• Assist veterinarians with routine and urgent care appointments.
• Collect, prepare, and process laboratory samples for in‑house diagnostics and outside reference laboratories.
• Place IV catheters and administer medications as directed.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging, including radiographs and ultrasound.
• Support anesthesia, surgery, dental procedures, and dental radiography.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough medical records.
• Educate clients and partner with pet owners to provide the highest standard of care.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment.

With 3 experienced veterinarians and a collaborative veterinary technician and veterinary assistant team, you’ll gain hands‑on experience across a wide range of procedures and medical cases. Qualifications

• Ability to pass a background check and pre‑employment drug screen
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical demands of a busy veterinary hospital, including standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, and reaching
