Job summary

Bucksport Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, PTO and a 401(k) plan, plus employee pet discounts.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification is preferred.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledgeable about common disease states; alert veterinarians to changes.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate care instructions and patient status updates to clients.
• Perform lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Keep exam rooms, treatment areas and equipment clean, stocked and ready.
• Follow hospital safety and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Job description

Salary: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, typically scheduled as four 10-hour shifts. Consistent schedule with a set day off. No weekend hours!
