Job summary

Bucksport Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients. The role emphasizes accurate patient handling, anesthesia support, and maintenance of medical records in a busy small-animal practice.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification preferred.
• Experience in animal care and client communication.
• Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate care instructions and status updates to clients.
• Perform lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean and stocked.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.

Job description

Salary: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, typically scheduled as four 10-hour shifts. Consistent schedule with a set day off. No weekend hours!
