Highland Animal Hospital in Needham, MA is hiring a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Assistant to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of veterinary experience, strong client communication, and familiarity with veterinary procedures. The role includes labs, imaging, anesthesia support, and accurate medical records within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years veterinary experience.
• CVT certification preferred.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Familiarity with DEA and OSHA guidelines.
• Knowledge of common diseases; able to alert veterinarians to changes.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Job description

Salary: $25 - $26 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: This is a full-time position scheduled 4 days per week, consisting of two 12-hour shifts and two 5.5-6-hour shifts. Monday - Friday shifts vary between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., with rotating Saturday shifts from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. required.
