Job summary

PetDocks Veterinary Hospital in Morehead City, NC is hiring a Veterinary Technician to join our AAHA-accredited team. The hospital operates on four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with weekends off; some boarding/kennel shifts may be required. Location: 5307 Hwy 70 W, Morehead City, NC 28557.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years of clinical veterinary experience, strong communication and teamwork skills, and a passion for caring for pets. NC RVT license is strongly preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• NC state RVT license strongly preferred, but not required.
• 1+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary assistant or technician required.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Passion for working with animals and their owners.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Ensure a clean, safe and organized work environment.

Job description

We are currently looking to hire Veterinary Technician to join our team at PetDocks Veterinary Hospital in Morehead City, North Carolina.

• Salary: $17.00 – 20.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.
• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday. Hospital is closed on the weekends, but some boarding/kennel shifts are required.

• NC state RVT license strongly preferred, but not required
• 1 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary assistant or technician required
• Understands the importance of excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Familiarity with Cornerstone or ProVet preferred
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint of a variety of species
• Ability to perform nursing care in a veterinary hospital setting
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Basic understanding of common medications, vaccinations, and preventatives
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Ensure a clean, safe and organized work environment
