Job summary

Kehoe Animal Clinic in Melbourne, FL seeks an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and support exceptional client and patient experiences across hospital care. You will participate in exams, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures, handling patients with care and assisting veterinarians throughout all stages of visits.

The role offers a 4/10 schedule with no weekend shifts, competitive hourly pay, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel, or related role preferred
  • Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint, patient histories, weights, and vital signs
  • Assist with exams, treatments, surgical setup/assistance, and inpatient care
  • Phlebotomy, SQ injections, laboratory sample collection, and basic diagnostics
  • Radiology positioning and imaging support
  • Accurate medical record documentation with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent teamwork, client communication, time management, and commitment to exceptional patient care

  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces

Job description

Kehoe Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile technician who enjoys variety in their day and wants to continue utilizing and developing a well-rounded skillset across patient care, client service, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures. In this position, you will take an active role in:

  • Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
  • Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
  • Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
  • Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
  • Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately

Schedule and compensation:

  • Compensation: $18-22 per hour, for each hour worked
  • This is a flexible, full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday, No weekends.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

  • 1+ years of veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel, or related role preferred
