Job summary

VCA Lafayette Animal Hospital in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. This full-time role offers a rotating Saturday schedule and opportunities to work across preventive care, dentistry, urgent care, and more.

You will assist veterinarians, monitor anesthesia, perform venipuncture, manage records, and educate clients. We value compassionate care, teamwork, and ongoing professional development in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently credentialed Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
• Capable of assisting doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.
• Strong client communication and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.
• Venipuncture and IV placement.
• Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
• Work with technical staff to ensure patient care across the hospital.
• Recognize changes in clinical status.
• Discharge instructions with clients.
• Complete estimates and basic record keeping.
• Surgical preparation and assisting.
• Anesthesia monitoring.
• Dentistry.

Full-time opportunitywith rotating Saturdays.

Our Veterinary Technician Team provides compassionate veterinary care to our patients. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

• Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.
• Venipuncture and IVC placement
• Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
• Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.
• Recognize subtle change in clinical status.
• Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.
• Complete estimates, basic record keeping.
• Surgical preparation and assisting.
• Anesthesia monitoring.
• Dentistry
