Job summary

Fairview Heights Animal Clinic is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to provide skilled patient care and excellent client service in Fairview Heights, IL. The role supports veterinarians during exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery, while maintaining medical records and client communication.

The ideal candidate has experience in animal care and understands regulatory guidelines (DEA/OSHA).

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification is required.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA and OSHA guidelines for hospital safety.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Job description

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour dependent on skills and experience

Schedule: Hours Vary, Starting at 7:30 AM-7PM, Monday- Friday
