Job summary

Lovejoy Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care in Boston’s historic North End is hiring full-time Veterinary Technicians. We plan to open in October 2026 and are building a brand-new team for general practice and urgent care.

The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, with a passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners. Evening shifts and rotating weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in animal care.
• Good client communication skills.
• Experience with common veterinary procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Lovejoy Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technicians

Salary: $29 - $35 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: The hospital is open 8 a.m.–9 p.m., seven days a week, evenings and rotating weekends required.

Our ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, with a passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners.

We’re building a brand-new team for our general practice and urgent care hospital opening in October 2026, and we’re excited to add passionate Veterinary Technicians to our lineup!

Key Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.

• Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
