Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary assistant experience, including anesthesia monitoring.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Comfort using computers and Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

• Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures.
• Assist with laboratory testing and prep for send-out tests.
• Support x-rays, ultrasounds, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines, fluids, and injections as directed.
• Obtain weights and temperatures, trim nails, clean ears, and assist with routine procedures.
• Prepare for surgical procedures and maintain sterile field.
• Monitor patients and vital signs during recovery from anesthesia.
• Sterilize instruments and packs; keep exam rooms clean and organized.
• Greet clients, assist with check-in and payment, and enter charges.
• Provide after-care instructions and medication guidance to clients.
• Assist with client calls and emails regarding pets’ care.
• Monitor and replenish medical and cleaning supplies.
