The practice provides advanced specialty, referral, emergency, and critical care medicine for companion animal patients across the greater Seattle region.

The surgical service works closely with clinicians across several complementary specialty disciplines, providing opportunities for collaborative management of complex surgical, medical, and emergency cases.

Surgeons benefit from a fully supported emergency and intensive care environment alongside advanced diagnostic imaging, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and comprehensive laboratory capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients referred for specialist surgical assessment
  • Perform comprehensive surgical consultations and diagnostic evaluations

  • Manage complex surgical and trauma cases
  • Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative patient management
  • Coordinate care for hospitalized surgical patients
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic resources to support surgical planning
  • Collaborate with emergency veterinarians and other specialists on multidisciplinary cases
  • Communicate surgical recommendations, risks, prognoses, and aftercare requirements clearly to clients
  • Develop productive relationships with referring veterinary professionals
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records
  • Participate in collaborative case discussions and continuing education
  • Contribute to the continued development of specialist surgical services
  • Maintain high standards of evidence-based surgery and patient welfare
Candidate Profile

Applicants should hold a DVM, VMD, or equivalent veterinary qualification and have completed appropriate advanced training in veterinary surgery.

Candidates should be board-certified or residency-trained in Veterinary Surgery and hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Washington State veterinary license.

The ideal candidate will be collaborative, self-motivated, and confident managing a diverse specialist surgical caseload.
