Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking a Student Representative for the 2026-2027 academic year to partner with Educational Outreach and connect with classmates and faculty for learning and networking opportunities.

You will facilitate connections, plan and advertise four live events per year, and promote events through emails and postings. Attend monthly Zoom check-ins with the Education Outreach Coordinator and a veterinary director, and share ideas for valuable activities.

Qualifications

• 2nd semester or above with GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Interest in general practice.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate other students to participate in learning and social events.
• Cannot hold a conflicting Student Representative role.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate connection with student program advisor or professor for Educational Outreach.
• Plan, coordinate and advertise four live events per year for classmates.
• Organize events such as lunch & learns, hands-on labs and social activities.
• Encourage peers to attend events via timely communications.
• Ensure events run smoothly by pre-planning and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Provide ideas to the Educational Outreach Coordinator about valuable event types.
• Attend monthly 30-minute check-in calls with the Educational Outreach Coordinator via Zoom.
• Attend monthly personal development calls with a local Area Medical Director via Zoom or in-person.
• Communicate with Educational Outreach Coordinators via email.
• Share information about events, externships, mentorship and job opportunities (four per year).
• Represent Vetco Total Care at campus career fairs and alumni events.

Join us as a Student Representative for the 2026-2027 academic year and partner with our Educational Outreach team to connect and engage with your classmates and faculty to offer learning and networking opportunities!

• Facilitate connection with student program advisor or professor for the Educational Outreach team and Area medical director. This will help ensure the program and offerings are in alignment with school policies.

• Plan, coordinate and help advertise four live events year for your classmates

• Examples may include lunch & learns, hands on wet labs and social events

• Encourage classmates to attend these events by delivering timely communications via email and internal posting opportunities

• Help ensure events run smoothly to include pre-planning the event, ordering supplies needed, communicating with Education Outreach coordinator if additional items needed and marketing the events

• Provide ideas and input to your Educational Outreach coordinator about the types of events that your classmates will find valuable

• Attend one monthly 30-minute check-in call with your Educational Outreach Coordinator via Zoom

• Attend one monthly personal development call with a local Area Medical Director (veterinarian) via Zoom or in person (depending on location)

• Communicate in a timely manner with your Educational Outreach Coordinators via email

• Share information about events, externships, mentorship and job opportunities, four per year

• Represent Vetco Total Care at your school's career fairs and alumni events

Hourly Rate: $18.65 - $31.83 (depending on location) with total projected earnings of around $2000 during the durations of the school year

This position is a short-term contract designed to support five (5) onsite events and various marketing outreach initiatives. The posted range represents the good faith hourly rate the Company reasonably expects to pay at the time of hire.

This is a contract role with the possibility to renew each year.

If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.

Salary Range: $20.53 - $31.83
