Description Thrive Pet Healthcare offers Veterinary Specialty Residencies - spend 3-4 years training in a specific specialty discipline. Thrive offers the following Residencies to begin July 2026.

  • Emergency & Critical Care - ACCESS Animal Hospitals, Culver City
  • Neurology – Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle
  • Oncology - Veterinary Cancer Group, Tustin, CA
  • Ophthalmology – Eye Care for Animals, locations TBD
  • Radiology - VitalRADS
  • Surgery (SA) – Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle

Thrive-University Partnership Opportunities

Each year, Thrive Pet Healthcare partners with our University Hospital colleagues to offer additional veterinary residencies. The university locations and specialties vary each year. For a July 2026 start, we offer training in Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology and Surgery. During the residency, the doctor enjoys the same experience and benefits as their peers, with some extra professional support. Following residency, the specialist works at a Thrive location the number of years equal to the length of her/his/their residency, and enjoys the benefits and community of our Thrive network. Please search the VIRMP for Thrive and contact us to learn more. Our definitive offerings for 2026 will be available in September.

  • SA Surgery opportunities supported by Thrive will be at the following universities - UGA, Missouri, and Wisconsin - and available through the VIRMP.

Thrive Pet Healthcare supports residents in our hospitals with a comprehensive package including:

  • $55,000 and above annual salary (details vary, based on location), with annual increases
