Hope Advanced Veterinary Center in Vienna, Virginia, is seeking a Specialty Medical Director (Internist or ER DVM) to lead medical standards and collaborate with a team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. The role involves working closely with Hospital Manager and Regional Manager in a 24-hour specialty and emergency setting.

The position offers a competitive salary with an annual Medical Director stipend, along with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth

Qualifications

• DVM degree from an accredited college or university.
• 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, ER.
• Completed a 3-year AVMA-approved residency program.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a high quality of progressive veterinary care and setting medical standards.
• Oversees medical directives and quality of care; ensures effective transfer of patient care responsibilities.
• Collaborates with Hospital Manager and Regional Manager; participates in weekly priorities and hospital operations.
• Reviews patient records for completeness and accuracy to promote medical excellence.
• Performs duties as assigned by Management; manages controlled substances and staff meetings.
