Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care is seeking a Veterinary Pharmacy Assistant to support our pharmacy and medical teams with precise medication preparation, documentation, and delivery.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and passionate about helping pets and people. Prior veterinary or human pharmacy experience is preferred, with a can-do attitude and strong time-management skills.

We’re looking for a Veterinary Pharmacy Assistant who is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and passionate about helping pets and the people who care for them.

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Pharmacy Assistant, you’ll support our medical and pharmacy teams by helping ensure medications are prepared, organized, documented, and delivered accurately and efficiently.

You’ll also provide compassionate support to clients by helping with medication instructions, refills, prescription status, and general pharmacy questions, while directing clinical questions to the appropriate veterinary team member.

Who We’re Looking For

Previous veterinary or human pharmacy experience is preferred, and we’re also excited to meet candidates who bring strong organizational and time-management skills, a positive “can-do” attitude, and a genuine love for people and pets. You should be dependable, comfortable following established protocols, eager to learn, and committed to providing high-quality support to our medical team.

Compensation & Schedule

$22–$30/hour, commensurate with experience and credentials

• Full-time position
• Five 8.5-hour weekdays, 11:30am-8pm (including half-hour unpaid lunch)
• Potential for a weekend shift for coverage
• Some holidays required
