Job summary

USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is seeking a pathologist at NBAF in Manhattan, KS to devise and perform state-of-the-art experiments on transmission and pathogenesis of foreign animal diseases affecting livestock and wildlife.

The incumbent will lead veterinary research efforts, oversee specialized lab work, and contribute to mission-critical programs protecting animal health and public health.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree with AVMA-accreditation, or foreign degree with ECFVG certification and English proficiency.
• Specialized experience in veterinary research, pathology, and laboratory workflow.
• Graduate training or residency in a relevant veterinary discipline.

Responsibilities

• Devise and perform experiments on transmission and pathogenesis of foreign animal diseases in livestock and wildlife.
• Operate and calibrate specialized laboratory equipment and maintain accurate data records.
• Contribute to program goals within the NBAF and ARS teams.
