Job summary

Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists in Buzzards Bay, MA is seeking an experienced Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Technician to join our overnight ECC team. This role offers exposure to critical cases, collaboration with specialty clinicians, and a chance to make a meaningful impact in a high-stakes setting.

We welcome full-time or part-time technicians who are credentialed (CVT/LVT/RVT) or eligible within 6 months, with at least 2 years in ECC or emergency nursing.

Qualifications

• Credentialed technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) or eligible within 6 months
• Minimum 2 years of ECC or emergency nursing experience
• VTS (ECC) candidates encouraged to apply
• RECOVER certified or interest in obtaining certification
• Strong interpersonal, technical, and critical thinking skills
• Positive, calm demeanor in fast-changing situations

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency triage and obtain vitals
• Assist in stabilization and intensive care procedures
• Administer treatments, medications, and fluid therapy
• Monitor pain, vitals, and clinical trends in real-time
• Assist in anesthesia and emergency surgical prep
• Communicate directly with doctors, support teams, and families
• Use advanced EMR systems for efficient and accurate patient tracking

What You'll Do

As a member of our ECC nursing team, you’ll be integral to managing critically ill or injured patients through every step of their care. You will:

• Perform emergency triage and obtain vitals

• Assist in anesthesia and emergency surgical prep

• Competitive pay: $22-$32
  • Most new hires can expect an offer based on experience, expertise, and alignment with comparable positions within the hospital, typically between the minimum and the midpoint of the range.
• Overnight shift differential beginning after 10 PM
• Full-time schedule is 4 shifts on, 3 days off with a holiday shift rotation
• Part time schedule varies (up to 29 hours/week)
