Evaluate and manage patients with suspected or confirmed cancer
Perform comprehensive oncology consultations and diagnostic assessments
Develop individualised cancer treatment and long-term management plans
Manage chemotherapy and other appropriate medical oncology treatments
Monitor patient response to therapy and adjust treatment plans when necessary
Work closely with other specialists on multidisciplinary cancer cases
Utilise advanced diagnostic imaging and laboratory resources
Provide ongoing management and supportive care for oncology patients
Communicate diagnoses, prognoses, treatment options, and quality-of-life considerations clearly to clients
Develop productive relationships with referring veterinary professionals
Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records
Help develop and expand the oncology service
Participate in collaborative case discussions and continuing education
Maintain high standards of evidence-based oncology medicine and patient welfare
Applicants should hold a DVM, VMD, or equivalent veterinary qualification and have completed appropriate specialist training in veterinary oncology.
Candidates should be board-certified in Veterinary Oncology and hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Washington State veterinary licence.
The ideal candidate will bring specialist oncology experience alongside the confidence and initiative to contribute to the continued development of the service.
Strong communication, collaboration, and clinical decision-making skills are important, together with a commitment to compassionate patient care and multidisciplinary medicine.
