This is an opportunity to join an experienced team of Neurologists and Neurosurgeons while practicing within one of the region's most comprehensive specialty referral environments. Our Neurology service manages both medical neurology and neurosurgical cases, creating an opportunity for a clinician who enjoys the full spectrum of neurologic care-from advanced diagnostics and medical management through surgical intervention.
VSH North County is also preparing to move into a new 35,000-square-foot hospital in early 2027. The expanded facility will create additional clinical capacity and provide an exciting opportunity for our Neurology and Neurosurgery team to help shape the service's future.
VSH North County's Neurology team currently includes two board-certified Veterinary Neurologists & Neurosurgeons, with expertise spanning neuroimaging, medical neurology, and advanced neurosurgical procedures. The service performs procedures including craniotomy, ventriculoperitoneal shunt placement, dorsal laminectomy, hemilaminectomy, spinal stabilization, and ventral slot procedures.
The incoming neurologist will work closely with the existing Neurology team as well as Surgery, Internal Medicine, Emergency & Critical Care, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, and other specialty services. This multidisciplinary structure is particularly valuable for neurologic patients who require coordinated medical, surgical, and critical care.
Advanced diagnostics-including MRI, CT, myelography, CSF analysis, EEG/EMG, nerve conduction studies, and advanced imaging support comprehensive neurologic workups and surgical planning. The hospital's surgical capabilities and experienced support teams allow neurologists with an interest in surgery to manage patients from initial diagnosis through postoperative care.
