IndyVet Emergency and Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Veterinary Medical Oncologist to join our 24-hour emergency and specialty team. This full-time role offers collaboration with Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Radiation Oncology to provide compassionate, evidence-based cancer care.

You will work with a supportive team in a state-of-the-art facility, with opportunities for ultrasound training, clinical trials, and continued professional growth.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Indiana veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in Veterinary Medical Oncology or residency training in Veterinary Medical Oncology.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills with experience managing complex oncology cases.
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and client-centered approach.
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-focused cancer care and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Manage oncology cases in collaboration with Internal Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, and Critical Care.
• Oversee chemotherapy protocols and ensure USP 800 compliance.
• Support daily client communication, including treatment updates and triage.
• Mentor chemo-trained technicians and support staff.
• Pursue growth opportunities such as ultrasound or clinical trial coordination.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and staff to provide seamless patient care.
• Communicate clearly with pet owners during stressful situations.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
