Job summary

Capitol Illini Veterinary Services Springfield is seeking a Medical Lead Veterinarian to manage associate veterinarians, set clinical standards, and drive hospital growth. You will balance leadership with clinical practice, aiming for outstanding patient care and client service.

You will partner with the Practice Manager to shape the annual plan, manage finances toward EBITDA goals, and mentor a diverse team across Springfield and Chatham.

Qualifications

• DVM degree and valid state license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of practical clinical experience.
• Servant leadership mentality with strong collaboration.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Understanding of hospital financial and operating management.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Manage all associate veterinarians with regular performance discussions and development goals.
• Set the example for medicine quality, client service, and efficiency while practicing as an associate.
• Collaborate with Practice Manager to develop annual operating plan and EBITDA targets.
• Lead monthly doctor meetings and supervise externship/mentorship programs.
• Serve as ambassador for the hospital and Mission Pet Health in the community.
