Job summary

MedVet is seeking a Medical Director to lead our Campbell and Mountain View emergency and specialty hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area. This dyad leadership role partners with the Hospital Director to guide the medical team and uphold MedVet’s commitment to excellence.

We offer a base salary starting at $200,000+, shareholder opportunities, a signing bonus, student loan repayment, and paid parental leave.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive growth and experience in a veterinary organization.
• Ability to manage conflict in highly emotional situations.
• Board-certified specialists or equivalent leadership experience preferred.
• Senior leadership experience in ER or specialty veterinary settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead hospital operations, including Emergency and Specialty services.
• Oversee doctor hiring, onboarding, development, and performance.
• Manage department workflows, scheduling, and communications.
• Collaborate with HD, RMD, and VP to manage budgets.
• Foster referral partner outreach and CE activities.
• Address patient care issues and regulatory interactions.
