Colorado Animal Specialty & Emergency (CASE) in Boulder, CO seeks a Medical Director to lead a premier specialty and emergency hospital. This full-time role combines clinical practice with strategic leadership across Surgery, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Oncology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, and Rehabilitation.

You'll shape clinical excellence, mentor interns and specialists, guide growth across the Ethos Veterinary Health network, and maintain an active caseload while steering hospital

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Colorado veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in a veterinary specialty or significant leadership experience within specialty and emergency practice environments.
• Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, mentorship, and hospital leadership.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
• A passion for continuous learning, team development, and advancing specialty medicine.

Responsibilities

• Lead with clinical excellence and establish the standard of care across all specialty and emergency services.
• Partner with hospital leadership to guide strategic growth, service expansion, and long-term hospital development.
• Foster collaboration, mentorship, and professional growth throughout the organization.
• Mentor specialists, interns, and emerging leaders while supporting a robust internship program and continuing education initiatives.
• Champion innovation and advance programs including minimally invasive procedures, interventional services, and clinical research.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention as CASE grows its specialty teams.
• Maintain an active clinical caseload while balancing leadership responsibilities with administrative time.
