Responsibilities

• Provide strategic medical leadership for a high-volume, multi-specialty and emergency hospital
• Oversee medical standards, protocols, quality initiatives, and clinical best practices
• Partner with Hospital Director on operations, recruitment, retention, and long-term planning
• Guide ER and specialty doctors with support from Assistant Medical Director
• Develop mentorship programs and foster a collaborative culture
• Improve workflows, patient care, and clinician experience
• Support physician development through mentorship and coaching
• Strengthen communication across specialties, emergency medicine, and leadership
• Maintain relationships with referring veterinarians and local veterinary community
• Represent SAVES and Ethos in the veterinary community
• Collaborate with Ethos leadership on strategic growth and renovation plans
• Maintain a clinical caseload one day per week to stay connected with patients
