At PetVet Care Centers, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Director to oversee multiple PetVax locations in Memphis, TN, with primary oversight of Germantown. You will lead a team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to provide high-quality veterinary care and build lasting client relationships.

The role requires a DVM/VMD, active state license, DEA registration, and 3–5+ years in practice.

Qualifications

• Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• 3-5+ years of experience in a veterinary practice.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Excellent surgical and dental skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care.

Responsabilités

• Maintains a high quality of progressive veterinary care.
• Oversees medical standards and quality of care; sets medical policies.
• Works with leadership to ensure services operate as a cohesive team.
• Recommends additions to hospital inventory with leadership input.
• Budgeting for new equipment and estimating ROI.
• Sees patients and handles clinical practice.
• Ensures positive communication with clients and staff.
• Reviews patient records for completeness and accuracy to promote medical excellence.
• Manages controlled drugs and reviews drug/medicine requests.
• Leads doctor meetings and performs other duties as assigned.
• Handles patient care problems, client complaints, and referral issues.
• Manages veterinary and client complaints and resolutions.
• Develops medical policies; ensures compliance with laws and standards.
• Monitors DVM performance and provides coaching.
• Mentors staff veterinarians; leads candidate interviews.
• Identifies new service opportunities; drives practice revenue via KPIs.
