You will mentor veterinarians and staff, partner with the Hospital Manager on operations, and foster a collaborative culture that prioritizes client service and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Active veterinary license in good standing in the state of Michigan.
• Proven leadership experience within a veterinary setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical leadership and ensure the highest standards of patient care.
• Mentor and support associate veterinarians and medical staff.
• Partner with the Hospital Manager to drive operational excellence, financial performance, and team development.
• Cultivate a positive, collaborative culture that promotes exceptional client service and staff satisfaction.
• Oversee medical and surgical cases to ensure quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
• Establish and maintain hospital medical standards and protocols.
• Support client communication and education throughout the care process.
• Manage medical inventory and control costs effectively.
• Participate in recruiting, training, and mentoring veterinarians and staff.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional guidance.
• Ensure all medical staff receive appropriate training and continuing education.
• Partner with the Hospital Manager on staff development and compliance programs.
• Support the hospital’s financial health through efficient operations and strategic growth.
• Participate in annual planning and budgeting.
• Monitor key performance indicators and implement improvements where needed.
• Foster client loyalty and engage with the community.
