CareVet is seeking an experienced Medical Director to guide a thriving two-building hospital serving Houston and surrounding areas. You will lead six veterinarians and 10+ technicians, influence medical standards, and mentor associates while enjoying clinical autonomy within a larger network.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree required and licensure in state to practice.
• Must have at least 3 years of leadership experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to diagnose, treat, and perform surgery.
• Compassionate with pets and owners.
• Proficient with veterinary medical technologies.
• Ability to work under pressure and make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
• Treat and dress wounds
• Perform surgery on animals
• Test for and vaccinate against diseases
• Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
• Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
• Prescribe medication
• Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
