PetVet Care Centers in Torrance, CA is seeking a Veterinary Medical Director to lead Torrance Companion Animal Hospital. You will shape medical direction, mentor a team of veterinarians, technicians, and staff while maintaining high standards of patient care and client service.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD from an accredited college.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• 3-5+ years of experience in a veterinary practice.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Excellent surgical and dental skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care.
• Excellent communication with all Medical and Hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high quality progressive veterinary care.
• Oversees and directs medical standards and quality of care.
• Sets policies pertaining to the practice of medicine.
• Work with leadership to ensure services operate as a cohesive team.
• Budget for new equipment and provide ROI estimates.
• See patients and handle clinical practice.
• Ensure positive client communication and proper transfer of care.
• Review patient records for completeness and accuracy to promote medical excellence.
• Manage controlled drugs appropriately.
• Review and approve drug and supply requests.
• Conduct regular doctor meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
• Handle patient care problems and client/partner issues.
• Develop medical policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Mentor staff veterinarians and lead candidate interviews.
• Monitor performance and production; coach as needed.
