Job summary

Dr. Domotor's Animal House in Monrovia, CA seeks a Medical Director to lead medical quality, mentor veterinarians, and partner with leadership to ensure exceptional patient care. The role balances hands-on clinical work with strategic oversight and community engagement.

The MD will supervise associate and partner doctors, maintain high standards, and drive continuous improvement in patient outcomes while supporting hospital growth and staff development.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required.
• Active licensure in state of practice with no restrictions.
• Active DEA registration for responsible practice location(s).
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a practicing veterinarian.
• Preferred 1 year leading a veterinary team or multi-unit experience.
• Commit to a minimum of 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Set, model, and uphold medical quality standards for the practice.
• Lead by example in delivering high-quality care and mentoring staff.
• Coach, mentor, and manage veterinarians; ensure clinical proficiency.
• Oversee hospital operations, medical records, and safety compliance.
• Partner with Practice Manager to align medical and operational priorities.
• Engage with the local community to grow practice presence and access to care.
