Job summary

Animal Care Center of Carters Creek is seeking a Veterinary Kennel Assistant to join our team. You will focus on patient husbandry and care as well as general housekeeping duties throughout the hospital.

You will provide meals and walks to boarding patients, administer medication, and monitor for any medical or behavioral concerns while providing detailed documentation about your observations. You will ensure kennels, common spaces and treatment areas are sanitized and well stocked with

Qualifications

• 1+ years of kennel assistant, boarding, doggy daycare, or related animal care experience preferred.
• Provide compassionate care for boarding dogs and cats, including medications, feeding, walking, and kennel maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe hospital through janitorial and housekeeping responsibilities.
• Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
• Strong work ethic, dependability, attention to detail, and a positive team-oriented attitude.
• Passion for animal care with a willingness to learn and grow within the veterinary profession.

Responsibilities

• Provide meals and walks to boarding patients and monitor for medical or behavioral concerns, documenting observations.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions, reporting changes to the veterinary team.
• Sanitize kennels, common spaces, and treatment areas; keep supplies stocked and organized.
• Maintain a clean, safe hospital environment through janitorial duties and routine housekeeping.
• Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments as needed.
• Contribute to a team-focused environment and support clinical staff as required.
