Job summary

Animal Emergency & Referral Associates (AERA) seeks a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist for a Full-Time position in West Caldwell, New Jersey.

The role emphasizes high-level internal medicine within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team You'll work with access to advanced imaging such as MRI and CT, alongside specialists in anesthesia, surgery, and emergency care.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent with eligibility for state licensure.
• Board certification in Veterinary Internal Medicine or residency training in the field.
• Excellent communication and collaborative team skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex internal medicine cases across GI, hepatobiliary, endocrine, infectious, hematologic, and respiratory systems.
• Perform and interpret advanced diagnostics including ultrasound, endoscopy, CT, and other imaging modalities.
• Collaborate with Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, Radiation Oncology and other specialty teams for comprehensive care.
• Coordinate consultations, referrals, and patient transfers between services to ensure seamless care.
• Mentor technicians and staff while expanding ultrasound and interventional radiology capabilities.
